Anatomy Of The Morning Phenomena

Travelling between the time zones is by far the best experience an international traveler can get. It is quite easy for a curious traveler like me to get boggled with the several amazing natural phenomena one could happen to experience during your journey between two far away places on the planet earth. We often have been listening since our childhood days about the shape and size of earth, the sun being a stationary in space and the moon being a satellite of the earth which keeps on orbiting around the earth.
That Amazing Moment When Night Transforms into a Day
A Day Far far Away
While many of the travelers are struggling to grab a power nap to battle their jetlags, how many of us really bother to open the airplane window and bother to observe the beautiful experiences out there in the sky wide open? Probably, quite a few of us. I often get amazed by the fact as to how different places on earth observe day and night at the same time.
There are often times when I have been stupidly calling my friends and family members to verify if there is really a daylight out there in India while I am located far off from home. How could some place of earth observe such a hot, sunny afternoon when at the same time some other place on the same planet experiences a pitch dark black night which seems like it never observed a day before. I know we take facts for granted and I know that the earth is like a big ball and the sun is like a big electric bulb in dark space. But, observing this happening in it’s live environment is an amazing experience, all thanks to the technology of the recent times.
Amazing experience observing the night transforming into a day
From the surface of the earth, it is quite an experience observing the dark night sky gradually turning lighter and lighter until it turns into a sky with broad daylight. And we have been observing this phenomenon since we were a child - the earth rotates around it’s own axis causing day and night. Nights turning into days and days turning into nights is quite a daily experience but have you wondered how it would feel like observing both the day and the night at the same time. Yes, it is this exact moment when your airplane reached to a point travelling through a dark night and you are able to see the first ray of light at the horizons while you realize you are still in the dark.
An Airplane Piercing Into A Day
Gradually, as you move forward, this ray of light becomes brighter and brighter transforming almost everything around you into a beautiful aura of colors. That is what we call a beautiful morning. Experiencing this from a 30,000 feet above the surface is quite an experience.

Out on a dream Island

This weekend I had been to the St. Mary's Island - a heaven I encountered on this planet.

St. Mary's Isles are a group of small islands lying a little to the north of the port of Malpe 7 kms form Udupi. Vasco-da-Gama landed in 1498 on one of these islands which he called `EI Padron de Santa Maria'. It is from this that these islands got their present name. They are just a few scattered projections of rock rising out of the western or Arabian Sea around Malpe.

The northern-most island is about a square mile in area and not more than 250 yards in width. It has coconut gardens which make it the shadiest of all the islands and give it a true South Sea color. The island is noted for its famous basalt rocks which Kulkunda, where a large cattle fair is held at the time of the have crystallized into columns and split into hexagonal mosaic. Perhaps, this is the only spot in India where basaltic rocks show up such peculiar formation. It is a really geological monument and tourists heaven. Totally uninhabited, St Mary's has just a few coconut trees for vegetation but nonetheless there are quite a few things that one can do here. If you happen to the lazy type, you can spend relaxed moments watching the azure blue sea. And when it gets too hot, you can catch your proverbial 40 winks of sleep in those straw huts constructed by tour-operators. The hexagonal rocks in various shades: of black and red are certain to hypnotize the itinerant tourist and one can spend quite some time climbing the taller ones. You can put more than your big toe in lagoons created by these rocky outcrops. Or walk on the soft, sands with the waves gently caressing your feet. Adults and children often succumb to the pleasures of collecting seashells that litter certain stretches of the beach.

The islands hold out possibilities of being developed into a popular holiday resort.

Presenting some of the great moments I spent on this island :

The Golkonda fort

Yesterday I visited the historic Golkonda fort. It is a strategically built fort with strong architecture, an amazing example of high engineering skills 800 years ago. No sooner did we enter one of the 7 fort gates than we came across this fort map.

THE GOLKONDA FORT

The Golkonda fort map

The fort is located at a very high location of the city and visible from various parts of the city. The apex of the fort is where the king used to stay.

Such are the fort complexities

In the evening, the A.P. tourism department arranges a light show which was immensely informative. The show narrated the story of the fort, the people that stayed there who have now became nothing but a part of history. The narration took our minds several years behind the time wheel. I felt as if I was one of the inseparable part of those times. The cries, those voices, those beautiful lights enhanted me. Above all the Bose-speakers added charm in the special effects of the entire show.

THE QUTUB SHAHI TOMBS

We also visited the famous Qutub Shahi tombs just 1 km away from the Golkonda.

So calm, so soothing!

And here comes the masterpiece...

It was a weary day and I was really exausted but contented. The visit gave me one of the most valuable information about the city and its people.

Birla Mandir and Eat Street Visit, Hyderabad

It was janmashtami(the birth day of Lord Krishna) holiday yesterday and we - a few infosyions planned to move out to the famous birla mandir near Secandarabad. The temple is built up at one of the highest peaks of the city from where we all enjoyed a majestic view of the hyderabad city.

For the first time I realized how complex was this city. But the major landmark is undoubtly the Husain Sagar lake with a serene statue of the Lord Buddha in the middle which is surrounded by the spell-bounding beauty of the necklace road (that seems very much similar to the queens's necklace at the marine drive in mumbai).

The calm and holy music of the religious songs at the temple were soothing my ears. It was a real peace of mind that I experienced.

It was a sizzling saturday night and we all wanted to chill out. As a matter of fact Hyderabad is really devoid of good hangouts except the I-max or the Prasad's multiplex theatre that we could think of spontaneously. But the Eat Street was really too good to miss. Eat Street lies on the necklace road.

At night, the dim lights added charm in its beauty. The food was expensive but no one would care of money at such a chill out zone. Awesome awesome awesome all it was! It was more than 11 o' clock at night and we were still discontented. The Husain Sagar lake at the background was looking so frightening still so romantic.

And the party is still on...

Since last 3 weeks I am in Cyberabad and am intended to stay here for the next month till the completion of my training at Infosys. The city is a real treasure of culture. My life has simply changed drastically since I have came here or to be more precise since I have joined Infosys.

My weekdays are weary but the weekends are bliss! There are lots and lots of things to do in the weekends. There are so many places to visit, so many pending tasks! Seems like the to-do list has no upper bound. No matter I am still to visit the much awaited Ramoji Film City and the Charminar. Last weekend I visited a beautiful lake Durgam-Cheru, near Madhapur. Thanks to Suraj one of my best friends who suggested me of the place. It was late in the evening when we reached the lake but it was simply marvellous, a well maintained lake with artificial waterfalls and show gardens, in fact a favourite hangout for young boys and girls who don't find sanctity in the crowds of the city.

Here at Infosys Hyderabad DC, I am a member of the Health Club that consists of the Gym, the pool, table tennis, lawn tennis, basket ball, volley ball, carrom, chess and my favourite the swimming pool. I believe that these physical activities are very much required for one to stay fit. This thing I realized when I found my belly competing with my chest after hours of work on the computer. Well, regular exercise is always good for people belonging to all age groups.

Its hard to choose a target but easy to shoot once you choose one!

And the only task I think of after getting worn out due to the days work is having a cup of coffee with my colleagues.

Me, Aditya, Md. Ali Khan (Ali Baba), Chetan Dubey, Arun Srivastava (Captain) during the coffee break

And guess with whom this last pic of mine is with! Yeah you are right! Its sachin..but not sachin tendulkar its sachin jain.
